Campaign Watch: Anne-Marie Predicts National Board Gridlock
September 21, 2008 by Number Six.
Membership First’s spokesperson, Anne-Marie Johnson tells Backstage she’s crunched the numbers after the board elections that saw Unite for Strength take five seats that had been held by her group, and the result, she says, isn’t necessarily the working majority others have seen for the moderates. Here’s the Johnson quote, from an article that otherwise breaks no new ground questioning whether Doug Allen can survive.Johnson: “Mathematically, to get anything done, they need 100% of the New York board and 100% of the (regional branch division). It’s going to be a hard task. They’ll get New York, but they won’t get 100% of the RBD. So if they’re missing two voters from the RBD, they won’t get anything done. It’s a tie. A lot of massaging will take place on both sides.”
