Negotiations Watch: Worth Attending

If you’re in Hollywood, tomorrow is the SAG/AFTRA joint briefing on the Booz Allen study relating to the Commercials Contract. It’s very complex material, but if you work commercials, it’s critical to the way you make your living.
JOINT SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AND AFTRA MEMBERSHIP EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS
REGARDING THE BOOZ ALLEN STUDY ON THE COMMERCIALS CONTRACT TO BE HELD
IN ADVANCE OF THE START OF COMMERCIALS NEGOTIATIONS PREPARATION
When: Wednesday, October 15
7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Monday, October 27
12 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: James Cagney Board Room

Los Angeles, CA 90036
(Validated parking available for structure behind building)
All paid-up SCREEN ACTORS GUILD and AFTRA members in good standing with their Unions are urged to attend these important Membership Educational Meetings.
These meetings will provide the members of both Unions the opportunity to hear the results of the Booz Allen study that was undertaken by SAG/AFTRA and the JPC. A group discussion will follow the presentation affording the staffs of both unions to hear directly the membership’s response to the study’s findings.
Please note that these meetings are in advance of our Wages and Working Conditions process and will in no way replace the process by which we develop proposals. The W&W meetings will occur in November/December after members have had a chance to learn about the study results.This is your chance to participate in the future of this contract. Come early and bring your paid up membership card.

Allen Watch: At Least They’re Reading…

It only took the better part of a day for someone at 5757 to figure out that we’re not in 2006 any more. So, now, if you’re worrying now about how you can do business with the union over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, that information is right up on the website front page.

Friday, November 28, 2008 - Guild closed
Wednesday, December 24, 2008 - Guild will close at 12:30 p.m.
Thursday, December 25, 2008 - Guild closed
Wednesday, December 31, 2008 - Guild will close at 12:30 p.m. (Membership/Cashier closed all day)
Thursday, January 1, 2009 - Guild closed
